Peek Inside My Window: Living Room

14 Mar

Welcome to our living room. On closing day, we unloaded the trucks and begun the process of removing the paneling and painting over the sunshine yellow.

Before we bought a couch, we kept the Target futon in the living room. Consider the kitchen area sneak peak a bonus.

I love the fireplace and the long, skinny windows. We bought those white slipper chairs for $40 each at Dirt Cheap (originally from Target).

I love this Vera Bradley rug but it wasn’t big enough, so it now lives in the bonus room.

This is the living room today. We still need a coffee table to perch that tray on. My mantle is sick. I have diagnosed it with the things-too-small-for-the-mantel-syndrome.  Looking at this picture makes me want to paint the chair legs  gold.

My velvet chesterfield couch is my most prized possession. Unfortunately, we painted the walls before we bought the couch. Maybe someday that will change…

We ordered the map from National Geographic.  Since the couch is pretty big, I wanted something substantial along the wall. It’s a great conversationalist piece.

There are still a few more things that I’ll eventually do: restore a buffet, more wall artwork, hem the curtains, buy a coffee table, make colorful pillows,  buy a new light fixture, and paint touch-up.

Hannah your house is soooo cute!!!! Even though I personally would have left the walls sunshine yellow and filled the house with wildly outragous colorful stuff and Ryan would come home one day and kill me, but thats just me, I mean your way to adorable too 🙂 p.s I agree with painting the chair legs gold!! 🙂
